Went here with some friends for dinner last night, and everything we ordered was delicious. The seafood tasted very fresh and was cooked perfectly. The staff was very attentive, always refilling our tea and checking in. A great spot for a family style dinner. Highly recommend!
The restaurant had been recommended by few friends. We finally got a chance to dine here. They are having order 3 get 1 free deal, we ordered 8 dishes and paid 6. Each dish is around $10. The price is great, those dishes are good, the duck is ok not great!
This place is great for family style dining. It is spacious and can support a large group dining with barely any to no wait. The food is delicious. I've been here many times and food always good. Good thing about family style dining is you can try a variety of food and share with group. Their lobster and dungeness crabs can be prepared in several styles. I like salt and pepper but my mom likes tamarind. Did not order them this time but the dishes ordered were really good and tasty.
I found the food authentic and delicious. The lobster cooked Hong Kong Style was prepared well. The fried rice is also delicious as was the beef with peppers and onions. I find all the seafood dishes fresh.
My dad favourite place, definitely he has a taste. The food is good in general, come out quick and hot. It’s good place for family dinner, gathering for big group.
We met a nice couple from Houston on our flight that highly recommend Hai Cang when we mentioned our foodie adventures in NYC’s Chinatown. We’ll be back - OMG - so good. We placed our order and when someone at the table behind us returned to their party, we turned around and saw the lobster on their table - whoa - they ordered off menu! We quickly changed our order and OMG OMG OMG the lobster in tamarind sauce was so so so good! Like lick the shell good and super fresh! Incredibly reasonable price wise too. We have heard that the lunch special is amazing, buy three and get one free. So, yeah, we’ll be trying that soon. And, this is a BYOB and high end wine or Chinese snow beer is completely appropriate! Our order: crab and asparagus soup, tamarind lobster (off menu), salt and pepper soft shell crab and crispy egg noodles with shrimp (menu modification) omg so delicious! Topping off the dinner - Hai Cang served fresh tapioca pudding, warm. Delicious! We’ll be back - soon :) very soon!
The food and service were good. The server kept checking on us and took the dishes away after we were done. After all, I had a great time dining with family at Hai Cang Harbor Seafood Restaurant. I will come back to try other dishes when I visit Houston next time.
